Hi, I’m Danielle - A content creator and director. My passion is a profound curiosity with people's stories, and the desire to create content that elicits a reaction, for better or worse.
In 2011, while pursuing a Masters in Social Work, I began parodying music videos as a creative outlet. I had always loved music videos and it seemed like the perfect venue to be as weird as you wanted to be, experiment and have fun. I began to notice a trend though. Music videos started feeling very much the same, and yet, continued to experience a lot of commercial success. Amused by the silly content out in the world, I became inspired to parody the formulaic videos I had seen and to create my own original content.
Executing these wild ideas living in my brain was cathartic and left me feeling exhilarated, so I began creating more often and my productions became larger in scale. I collaborated with composers, producers and started directing larger casts of characters. Noting my stylistic inclination for weirdness, a cinematographer suggested I consider advertising and so I did. I wrote and directed several spec spots, shorts and sold a commercial. The challenge of telling a smart, thought-provoking story in 30 seconds excites me and pushes me to continue creating.
I was invited to participate in 72andSunny’s creative residency, 72U, and left my Texas home heading west. Working closely with six other creatives from different countries, we learned the importance of collaboration, iteration and caffeine.
I'm currently a writer and creator, living in Los Angeles. Endlessly fascinated by people's stories, my imagination runs into how many different ways a story can be seen and told. Feel free to drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
